Social Networking for iMIS seamlessly integrates with iMIS, SMPS's member management software system. This enables SMPS to eliminate data redundancy, efficiently reconcile information, facilitate chapter management, provide members with real-time support and gain insight into member interests in ways never before possible.
Key Facts
- SMPS was using public social networking websites to connect with its members, but needed to centralize its communications and develop its own branded, online community network. Social Networking for iMIS provides members and staff a one-stop-shop for content like board minutes and chapter planning discussion listservs. With Social Networking for iMIS, SMPS now allows members to update their own profiles, set their own communications preferences and privacy settings.
- SMPS needed a better way to facilitate chapter communication and collaboration. With Social Networking for iMIS, SMPS now allows auto creation of individual chapter communities, staff groupings, and board member discussions to take place within the network. In addition, SMPS transitioned its old listserv into the Social Networking for iMIS user-friendly, robust and searchable forum, allowing over 250,000 intra-member emails to be delivered in the months immediately following the launch.
- SMPS was honored with the 2010 MarCom Award for Outstanding Social Media Web Site. Thanks to Social Networking for iMIS and strong organizational support, SMPS won a Gold Award forwww.MySMPS.org among almost 5,000 entries in the MarCom 2010 international competition.
