CMS FUND 2009 has added capabilities to attach documents to master records, which reduces time spent retrieving various documents. Other new features include lot numbers for inventory tracking, the ability to view logs of credit-card activity, and PDFBlaster Lite which makes it possible to transfer documents into PDF files. This software also includes a bank reconciliation module which can handle multiple bank accounts. It has the ability to categorize transaction into categories for tracking by any criteria.


In Use
CMS FUND is designed to be user friendly, and has simple layout and menu options. The new release has increased security features, which provide multi-tiered security that allows the administrator to set access privileges. This system is able to produce a variety of reports which include income statements, trial balances, and statement of cash flows.

The bank reconciliation module is a versatile module, which lets you keep an accurate account of more than one banking account, and allows for setting up categories for your transactions, to make tracking easy.  It is designed with the same type of layout as the general ledger, and helps non-profit organizations track the status of various accounts.

CMS has many add-ons available at additional fees; including SinglePoint which lets you connect to your accounting software remotely from anywhere. This software is designed to meet the basic needs of a non-profit organization.

Technology employed
CMS FUND 2009 can be installed on a single computer, or set up through a server. It works with Windows XP Professional, Vista Business and Windows Server 2000 and 2003. The system requires 2GHz Processor, 1GB RAM and anywhere from 1 to 20 GB of space depending on whether it is installed on a single computer, or a server.

My Opinion
CMS FUND 2009 is a versatile, multi- functional system that can handle all your non-profit basic accounting needs. The application can handle multiple accounts, and has time-saving features. One thing that sets CMS FUND 2009 apart from other software is its support system. Their customer service and Software Assurance Program is outstanding, with well trained associates to assist you. I would highly recommend this software for small to medium size nonprofit organizations.
