Blackbaud Mulls CPA Program

This news item is cross posted from our sister site The Progressive Accountant.

Nonprofit vendor Blackbaud is considering the establishment of a CPA program. While the company is not ready to provide details of a proposed plan, it has begun bringing one firm on board in the new effort. The company is also likely to begin recruiting resellers after a lapse of several years.

A spokesperson says no other information is yet ready for public release but notes "This is an exciting opportunity for us and CPAs that work with nonprofits."

Blackbaud has not had an active channel program and has worked solely with resellers that came its way via acquisitions. This includes FundWare resellers whose product was picked up by Blackbaud with its purchase of Kintera. However, recently Scott Bechler, VP of partnerships, said that the Charleston, S.C.-based company is conducting pilots for the program and has "started talking to partners." It plans a significant expansion to the program this year.
